My youngest son Alec just turned 8! He is a lover of all sea animals, so why not throw an Under the Sea Party at his Great Grandma’s Pool! We invited the entire 2nd grade this year. Unfortunately, the weather was not the best. 60 degrees with an 80% chance of rain all day and possible thunder and lightning. Darn you OREGON! We couldn’t reschedule due to not knowing everyone’s contact information. We went ahead with the party anyway RAIN or SHINE. Thankfully Grandma heats the pool at a comfortable 89 degrees. A big crowd of friends braved the weather and came out to celebrate anyway. The kids will never forget swimming in the pouring rain. We did get lots of sun breaks and enjoyed the smiles and time with our friends. In this party you will see loads of sea inspired treats, and fun activities. Each guest made their own Mason Jar Sea Aquarium. It was easy and so much fun! A tutorial will be coming soon with step by step instructions. They would be a great fit for a Mermaid or Pirate party too. I hope you enjoy this fun little party we got to put together to celebrate our sweet Alec.
The kids loved creating their own Beach Beverage. They put their desired fruit in their cup, filled with Blue Lagoon punch and topped it off with the umbrella and straw of their choice! It was a hit!!Costco had ready made croissant sandwiches ready to go. All I had to do was purchase some self sticky google eyes and round tooth pics. They made delicious crab sandwiches.
Fruit is always great for kids. They ate it by the handful and it looks tropical too!It was hard to get the kids out of the pool, but when they did…they loved creating their own Mason Jar Aquarium. They wrote their name on the lid in a silver sharpie. Thankfully, no broken glass at the pool. They were very responsible 8 year olds with lots of helpful Mothers.
Sea Water and Blue Lagoon Punch was a great fit for an outdoor pool party. All the galvanized party pieces are from Walmart. They have a great selection right now. Sweet friends enjoying their Beach Beverages. A variety of Sea Animals were pinned to a long piece of jute string. They created some interest above the party table. Some cute mermaids joined the party too!I didn’t go crazy on a fun cake, but instead just bought a variety of desserts. The kids were HUNGRY when they got out of the pool. These were bright, yummy and easy to grab in a hurry!Alec got spoiled by his friends and best of all got to spend the day making memories with them. Nothing beats that!I had so much fun designing these invitations. I love the big whale and the sea turtles in particular. They are available to purchase in my party shop! The kids had a blast swimming. Alec’s older brother Colby had to show off his diving board skills.
Loads of shells, star fish, sea animals and marbles to choose from for the Mason Jar Sea Aquarium. The Sea animals were found on Amazon. The smaller the better. Then you can pick several for your jar. The starfish, Turquoise Netting and Shells were found on Shindigz.Clear jars show off the bright colors of the sea plants and multi colored rocks. Easy decor that adds a POP to your party.Vendor Credit
